Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara
Our 2023 Cabernet Franc opens with vibrant red and ripe black fruit, layered with green peppercorn and dried chili. Subtle herb and spice notes add to the complexity, while medium tannins frame the palate with balance. Crafted in unfined and unfiltered purity, this wine reflects the character of the vineyard and will deepen gracefully with time.
Sourced from a Santa Ynez vineyard in Happy Canyon, fermented in stainless steel open top with native yeasts—incorporating 30% whole clusters to build aromatic lift and structure. The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak, 30% new.
2023 Koehler ‘Happy Canyon’ Cabernet Franc- This 2023 ‘Happy Canyon’ Cabernet Franc is wonderfully herbal on the nose with green bell pepper, exotic spices and dense dark fruits.
