2023 Picpoul Blanc
Tasting notes
Inspired by the delicious Picpoul Blancs of France but made to reflect a unique California style. This wine carries the acidity this grape is best known for but brings along with it a lot of California sunshine. Fruity, zippy, great textures, complexity, and deliciousness all combine to show what California Picpoul can be.
Production notes
Sourced from Nolan Ranch in Alisos Canyon AVA; SIP certified vineyard. Gently pressed and settled in tank for two days before racking to barrel. Native barrel fermented over three weeks in neutral oak and select new oak barrels with a special burgundy toast. About 50% allowed to complete ML for complexity. Aged on fine lees for 10 months prior to bottling.

A darker yellow shade in the glass, this bottling hits the nose with golden apple and tangerine peel aromas that are cut by a steely minerality. The palate is rounded with Meyer lemon, light peach and toasted nut flavors. — Matt Kettmann
