2021 Magia Nera
The most popular wine in our tasting room year after year, the Magia Nera is a classic blend of Sangiovese (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%). Both varieties were picked, vinified, and aged separately. In the glass, the blend is a beautiful dark ruby with a violet edge. Pronounced dark cherry, cocoa, and rich cassis aromas are accompanied by those of toasted brioche and faint baking spice. The full-bodied Magia Nera displays ample flavors of plum and light chocolate. This magical, crowd pleasing blend finishes smooth and soft with supple tannins. Drink now through 2030.

The 30% new French oak makes itself very known on this toasty blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of gingerbread cookies, cinnamon, licorice and sour cherry lead from the nose into a palate of tart red fruit, sumac and prominent clove, cinnamon and mace spice. — Matt Kettmann
